The Workshop… General Information:

"When you are talking upstage are you confident that the audience can hear you? Are you happy with the range of notes and the variety in tone in your voice? In soliloquy, do you feel you are swallowing the words?"

Using Grotowski guidelines you will learn how to have a clear awareness of your voice and its immense potential. Grotowski linked the voice to nine resonating areas of the body allowing the actor to connect with their voice on a deeper level: he described this as an "inner ripening" of the actor. Find a greater connection to the emotion without letting it cover up your performance or strain your voice.

"Using the Grotowski technique, the performer is not sapped of their emotional energy. Energy goes out to the audience rather than being sucked in by the performer."

Please bring scripts you would like to work on; other scripts will be provided.

The workshop will be videoed on day 4.
